Screws – ILCA block & cleat deck plates – Plates to hull
£1.20 inc. VAT
Description
Screws – ILCA block & cleat deck plates (Plates to hull)
Screws to attach the deck block plate & cleat block plate to the deck of the hull (2 supplied).
Block plate – 2 required
Cleat plate – 2 required
Silicone sealant also required.
If securing to a new hull use a countersink bit to remove enough gelcoat to enlarge the hole in the gelcoat to the diameter of the screw. This prevents the almost inevitable cracking & mounding of the gelcoat by the screw.
If securing into an older hull use a countersink bit to “tidy up” any previously created cracking & mounding of the gelcoat.
NB – When securing to an older hull if the screw does not tighten but simply turns then a size larger screw is required. Email info@ILCAdirect.co.uk to request this larger screw.
When using the larger screw the deck cleat plate should not need modification.
When using the larger screw, depending on the block deck plate, the two holes in the block deck plate may also need to be enlarged. Enlarging the holes may not be as easy as one might think because stainless steel “work hardens” & the easier option might be to order a new deck block plate. If a deck block plate with larger holes is required email info@ILCAdirest.co.uk to request this modification.
